Video Building Railroad
Jim Herron have sent me information about a Video that is for sale. Below you can find order information and some sample frames from the Video.
A VHS video of the construction of the railroad to Nimba and the harbour etc. exists and is for sale from Jim Herron in the USA.
The film runs around 40 minutes + about 5-10 minutes of outtakes which are mostly the railroad, including the Swedish rail car used in the opening ceremonies.
The video is in VHS NTSC format - that is, it is made for US video machines, but will work on most modern European video machines. Check your manuals for NTSC compatibility!
The program features clearing the jungle, building the highway and railroad, building the harbour and all related facilities, towns, mine, and associated projects. It has scenes of President Tubman and other dignitaries at the opening ceremonies. The program was written and narrated (in English) by Ralph E. Morse, a CBS reporter who also interviewed President Tubman for a Voice of America program. Filming and editing was by Charles Hegyes who was an employee of Raymond International. Several trips were made to Liberia to film the show.
Copies of the video cost $20,- plus shipping from Tampa, Florida, USA. Shipping costs depend on destination.
